Men's Growth Group

The Men's Growth Group has been meeting in various formats for more than 20 years beginning during the 1980s when the Men's Movement was first popular. Since then, this group and the Men's Movement have evolved. Bob Skrocki reorganized the group ten years ago. About a dozen men make up the current membership which gradually changes as people leave or join.

We see ourselves as part of the mission of the church to build the church community and enhance deep and meaningful friendships that encourage our personal growth. Our membership is open to all interested men who are willing to make a serious commitment to regular attendance and agree to  a covenant for the group that includes strict confidentiality. 
 
Our meetings usually begin with a check-in which is followed by a presentation or program directed by one of our members. This responsibility rotates through our membership and everyone gets involved. For several years we have turned our December meeting into a Holiday Dinner; presented the Sunday Morning Service one Sunday in August; and offered a special dinner prepared and served by the Men’s Group at the DUUC Annual Auction.
 
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
